A Daily Prayer

Today, Lord, I remember those who are experiencing the hell of poverty, drugs, alcoholism, abuse, homelessness, persecution, and the other forms of hell found in our world today. I bring before you those who feel unloved and all who have little joy or hope in their lives. I think of ordinary people caught up in war, stationed around the world, cut off from their families. I turn over to you man-made divisions between people of different races, beliefs or cultures in order that they may see their common humanity. I pray for justice and peace for all who feel threatened. I pray for greater love and acceptance for those experiencing difficulties in family life. I pray that the eyes of our leaders be open regarding the things of You, God. I pray that you inspire and enable me to be an instrument of Your justice and peace. May I strive to do Your will always. Amen.
